Purchase Agreement

The deed is what will transfer ownership between the seller and the buyer. It is a written document, filed with the county clerk and is public information. There are several types of deeds including warranty deeds, grant deeds, and quitclaim deeds. The county office will likely require the deed be notarized and witnessed. They will keep a copy of it and provide a copy to the transferring party.
Closing Statement
If the sale is being financed, a closing statement will also be required. This will show the debits and credits for both the buyer and seller. This document is sometimes also referred to as a HUD Statement.
